Monitoring Media!

On this website I will focus on childhood obesity in America. It seems as though the media has infiltrated the lives of American children causing them to be almost addicted to television, video games, and the internet. Their desire to be in the house playing video games, watching television, and online social networking has taken over the opportunity to go outside and play. Playing is a very important tool in a child's life, remaining active keeps a child healthy and fit. It also requires face to face interaction with your friends which improves social skills. The amount of time a child spends playing outdoors and using new media can be regulated if parents properly monitor theor children and maintain a healthy balance of activity in their lives. I am focusing on this issue because the American youth is getting less and less healthy. Younger children are being diagnosed with obesity and diabetes everyday. I personally know some children who are considered to be overweight and who have diabetes as well. We as American adults should be making a more conscious effort to keep our children healthy.
